March Update

Hello everyone,

How are y'all!  We're praying you're doing well and becoming more obsessed with Jesus each day.  Before we begin with our update, I want to encourage you to check out our newest update video on our website if you haven't already (there's a beautiful lady and some super cute kids in it, so you won't regret it).  Also, if you haven't liked our Facebook page yet (so that you know when we post things like this), you can do so here.  Finally, we also recently posted a vision update on our website that will catch you up on where we've been over the last 18 months and where we feel Jesus is leading us now.  You can check that out here.

Man, where do I start with updates?  As always, thanks for the prayer for our family.  We had a great trip to Colorado last month and really enjoyed the time we had there with family and friends.  The kids are doing great--I feel like the trip was really good for them.  They started swim lessons yesterday and did awesome, so they are excited about that.  On a personal note, the last few weeks have been difficult for me--probably the most difficult I've had since moving here.  I feel like we are really being attacked spiritually as a family.  I've been thinking often of 1 Cor. 16:9.  It says, "For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries."  We know that God is doing a great work and so it shouldn't surprise us when there are attacks from the enemy.  However, that is much easier to say and recognize after the fact than it is in the moment.  Also, the months of March and April will be super crazy for our family with lots of traveling and different events.  Thanks for keeping us in prayer for all of this.

Things have continued moving forward at UACh.  Beyond the classes I teach, we are also depending on Jesus to move powerfully so that we can bring CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) to the campus.  We were told by the administration that they aren't comfortable making CRU a university sponsored group.  However, they did tell us that we can talk with each individual Faculty (School) within the university about meeting and handing out fliers.  If they give us the ok, then we are able to move forward with meeting.  Also, although the Conversation Clubs have been delayed longer than we had hoped, they are set to kick-off next Tuesday and Wednesday.  We have also begun meeting together once a week to pray at each campus.  God is moving in many different areas and we are just seeking to jump onboard with His plan for UACh.

Speaking of CRU, the Mexico branch of the ministry is having their national conference in Puebla, MX March 25th-29th!  I get excited thinking about connecting with others serving Jesus on campuses throughout Mexico as well as being encouraged and trained in how to reach the university.  I would ask you to join me in praying for the finances for the conference.  It's beyond what our budget can cover right now but I'm also confident that the Lord wants me to go--so I believe that He will provide.  The cost for everything will amount to around $250-$300.  If the Lord lays it on your heart to support us with that cost, let us know--it would be such a blessing.  If not, no worries!  Please just join us in prayer that God will provide.

As always, there is so much more that I would love to be able to share but this is already getting long.  I have begun serving more in our church--specifically focused on growing church-wide discipleship through our home groups.  We are also in the planning stages of developing a School of Discipleship.  (We are hoping to kick that off somewhere around August).  Hopefully I can expand more on what God is doing in those areas in a future email.  Thanks as always for your prayer and support.  We love you guys!

Praise Reports
- Our CO trip was great!
- We got the final ok to start the Conversation Clubs on both UACh campuses next week!
- We helped with a Marriage Conference in Juarez on Feb. 16th-18th.  It went well, with God really encouraging and challenging the couples that were there.
- I have been meeting and sharing Jesus with a student named Brian for almost a year.  A few weeks ago he joined us for church for the first time!  I see God doing a work in his heart as he moves closer and closer to surrendering his life to Jesus.
- We have prayed a lot about direction as far as serving more at our church--Capilla Calvario.  God has answered those prayers and we are excited to begin serving more there as we focus on church-wide discipleship.

Prayer Request
- For our crazy schedule over the next couple months.  That we would still carve out plenty of family time in the midst of it.
- For the Marriage Conference that we are helping plan for that will be at our church on April 13th-14th.
- For the Home Group that meets in our house every other week.
- That God would continue working in Brian's heart so that he would finally surrender his life to Jesus and be saved.
- That the Lord would guide us to walk in His plan to reach UACh.  Also, that the Lord would provide for me to go to the CRU Mexico conference.
- That God would lead us as we develop the home groups in our church and seek to disciple leaders and potential leaders in the church.
